TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he will never talk about his controversial exit from the BBC for punching a producer. The former Top Gear host's career has gone from strength to strength since leaving the Beeb 10 years ago.

Peter Fincham, a producer on Clarkson's Farm recently told the Telegraph that he thought the BBC shouldn't have gotten rid of Jeremy after the punch incident, calling it a "straightforward mistake" to lose such as asset to Amazon Prime.

The 65-year-old star would not be drawn on the fallout from his punch a decade on.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Jeremy said: "Everyone's got an opinion of those times and those days. I have never talked about it and I never will."

Jeremy presented Top Gear from 2002 to 2015 with pals Richard Hammond and James May. Their participation on the show came to an abrupt halt when Jeremy faced allegations of verbal and physical abuse committed towards producer Oisin Tymon.

The trio went on to present car show The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime while his farming show Clarkson's Farm has proved to be a smash hit. Jeremy also went on to front the revival of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

It comes as Jeremy revealed he was "hours away" from having a potentially fatal heart attack as he faced a devastating health scare last year.

He underwent emergency heart surgery where he had two stents fitted last October. Jeremy said he woke up feeling "clammy" with a tightness in his chest along with pins and needles in his left arm.

The star admitted it was "scary looking back" at how much worse things could have been.

Speaking to the Telegraph he said: "It wasn't a heart attack, but I was hours away from one.

"All of the vessels feeding the heart with blood looked like something dangling from a cave in the Peak District. They were just ruined.

"One of them was 90 per cent blocked. I didn't feel very well one morning. But everybody seems to agree it was the result of 60 years of really bad living, and of two weeks of ridiculous stress and no sleep."

The 65-year-old went to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests and X-rays ruled out a heart attack.

But further checks by doctors suggested he was very close to his condition deteriorating rapidly.

Jeremy's health scare sparked an extreme lifestyle change for the presenter. Doctors recommended giving up processed food and to exercise on a more regular basis.

He has taken up pickleball - a racket or paddle sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court.

Jeremy has also apparently taken up a 'mono diet', which involves consuming only one food item or a very specific group of foods for several days or weeks. Despite his lifestyle changes Jeremy still enjoys the occasional glass of rosé wine.

The fourth series of Clarkson's Farm dropped on Amazon Prime on Friday (May 23).
