MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - A Huntsville man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Morgan County on Saturday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the wreck happened at approximately 10:55 a.m.

The man killed was identified as 39-year-old Jeremy S. Lumpkin. Authorities said he was fatally injured when the 2009 Lexus RX SUV that he was driving left the roadway, overturned, and then struck a tree.

Authorities said Lumpkin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 67 near Ryan Loop Road, approximately three miles north of Hulaco, in Morgan County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
