ITV Coronation Street's Craig Tinker 'killed off' in tragic twist as first look pictures show horror
Coronation Street confirmed Craig Tinker will fight for his life after the police officer is savagely attacked in upcoming scenes, with others also at risk
A devastating Coronation Street death might be looming next week, with Craig Tinker set to depart the ITV soap following a "vicious attack".
Colson Smith, who has played Craig for over ten years, had his upcoming exit confirmed earlier this year after it was revealed last autumn that his character would be written out. Recent rumours have speculated that Craig could meet a tragic end, a prospect now seemingly supported by forthcoming spoilers, new images, and a tantalising trailer.
While fans will undoubtedly hope for Craig's survival and wish to see him leave Weatherfield unscathed, it has been officially announced that the beloved character will suffer severe injuries, leaving him in a critical condition. As the plot line involving Kit Green and antagonist Mick Michaelis escalates, the unfortunate Craig may be collateral damage, with others also at risk.
Upcoming episodes suggest that individuals connected to Craig could face peril as Mick seeks vengeance on Kit for past grievances. New photographs reveal a blood-soaked Craig motionless on the street, while Weatherfield locals like Maria Connor and Sarah Platt rush to help.
Craig receives emergency care on-site from paramedic Asha Alahan, who then accompanies him to the hospital. In every photo, an injured Craig lies unconscious, stirring grave concern among the gathered crowd, reports the Mirror.
As it's disclosed that this will be Craig's concluding narrative and his "ultimate battle", fans are left wondering if disaster will strike, resulting in the police officer's demise. In a teaser launched by the soap, DS Lisa Swain is audibly distressed as she states: "If we knew today was our last day on earth, what would we do differently?" Her next sentence sends a shiver down the spine as she says: "There isn't always more time."
While the specifics surrounding the events and whether Craig pulls through are tightly sealed, viewers can anticipate episodes to be broadcast starting from Monday, May 19, continuing through to Wednesday and Friday of the same week. It's anticipated to be Colson's last hurrah on the show, with him hinting at his eagerness for his final plot line.
What can be divulged though, is that a "horrific" onslaught places Craig's very existence in jeopardy, leading to an urgent dash to the hospital after neighbours discover him. The complete week's programming will uniquely zone in on Craig's tale, alongside the backstory of his colleague Kit which evolves from the flashback episode revealing his and Mick's history.
Kit's previous life appears to follow him, threatening to place his loved ones "in grave danger". Does this imply Craig is one among those imperiled by Mick?
Craig is about to embark on his shadowing experience with Kit in CID, but before long, a chain of intense happenings erupt on the iconic street culminating in a frightful and stunning event. Whatever transpires leads Craig into a struggle for survival, battling "for every breath".

Actor Colson, discussing the intense episodes ahead, expressed his excitement and pride, mentioning it was "great fun". Colson shared: "I can't wait for people to see Craig's final scenes. It is exactly the exit I wanted for him and we are all really proud of what we filmed in those final weeks. It was actually great fun. I was walking around covered in fake blood for days and I was chuffed that I got to work with so many brilliant people in this final storyline."
Earlier in the year, the actor announced his departure from the show after being told his character would be written out. He posted on social media saying: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to an end in 2025. I've LOVED every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world."
