The family adventure film "The Wildman of Shaggy Creek” has won four prestigious awards from the IndieFEST Film Awards.
The awards were given for Best Family Film, Best Direction (Jesse Edwards), Best Editing (Joe Bastien), and Best Cinematography (Jesse Edwards). "The Wildman of Shaggy Creek" features a mysterious storyline with a thrilling adventure as two kids set out to discover the truth of a mythical creature in the Shaggy Creek woods.
Jesse Edwards, the Nashville-based film director said, “Hollywood doesn’t make these kinds of movies anymore and we are thrilled to see this heartfelt adventure story being honored with awards and recognition. We can’t wait for the world to see it.”
Jesse is also producer, writer and cinematographer of the film.
Rick Prickett, who chairs The IndieFEST Film Awards, had this to say about the latest winners, “The IndieFEST is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world from powerhouse companies to remarkable new talent. The goal of The IndieFEST Film Awards is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve.”
In winning an IndieFEST Film Award, Jesse Edwards joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including Academy Award winners Laura Dern, George Clooney and Susan Sarandon. As well as Oscar nominee Liam Neeson, Blake Lively, Katie Holmes, and many others.
"The Wildman of Shaggy Creek” will have its Red Carpet Premiere at the Franklin Theatre on May 28, 2025 and will have its wide theatrical release by Family Movie Events starting Aug. 1, 2025.
