Raid 2 is the thrilling sequel to the 2018 smash blockbuster, and tomorrow, April 8, 2025, is the day the highly awaited trailer will be released. Returning for another high-octane narrative of truth, bravery, and justice against white-collar crime is Ajay Devgn as the no-nonsense Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Amay Patnaik.

Raid 2 continues saga of corruption and justice

Continued from its predecessor, Raid 2 continues Raj Kumar Gupta's exploration of corruption, high-profile investigations, and income-tax raids. Announced in April 2020, the sequel is one of the most anticipated crime thrillers of 2025.

Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh are Devgn's co-stars in this thrilling series. Amay Patnaik's 75th and most high-stakes raid targets the elusive and powerful figure played by Deshmukh, Dada Bhai. Mystery surrounds Vaani Kapoor, yet her character reportedly adds emotional depth and intrigue to the film.

Inspired by real-life income tax raids

The film highlights the intelligence, strategy, and determination needed by officers to uncover large-scale financial scams, drawing inspiration from real-life income-tax operations. Raid 2 presents Patnaik with his most formidable opponent yet, after he has successfully amassed over ₹4200 crores through his dogged persistence.

The film features a genuine, grounded setting that makes the story come to life, shot across actual locales in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Mumbai. Producers moved the film's release from February 2025 to May 1, 2025, in order to take advantage of the longer weekend of International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day.

Fans are hoping for a film that manages to strike a good mix between drama, action, and realism, following the success of Raid and the praise for Devgn's powerful performance as Amay Patnaik.
