The BBC has announced an exciting cast for its upcoming drama, Two Weeks in August. Penned by Catherine Shepherd, this eight-part series will follow a group of friends on a transformative adventure as they "reconnect and uncover more about themselves and each other than they ever expected" while sharing a holiday in Greece.
Jessica Raine of Call the Midwife fame is set to play Zoe, "a woman pulled in every direction and hoping this holiday will be the tonic she and her family need".
Damien Molony, known for his role in The Split, will star opposite her as her "troubled husband" Dan, with Nicholas Pinnock from For Life appearing as their long-standing friend Solomon, alongside Antonia Thomas from The Good Doctor who will portray Solomon's new partner Jess.
Other talents include Leila Farzad and Hugh Skinner, who will feature as university companions Nat and Jacob, a scoop revealed by Digital Spy, reports the Daily Record.

Rounding out the cast are Dolly Wells, Tom Goodman-Hill, Dylan Brady, Maria Almeida, Khalil Gharbia, Florence Banks, Sonny Poon Tip, and Cassius Hackforth.
In Two Weeks in August, we delve into Zoe's quest to "rediscover joy in her life" when she sets off on a holiday with her nearest and dearest.

However, what begins as Zoe's desire to fulfil her innermost desires leads to a more significant confrontation, as the holiday "becomes a reckoning for a group of adults who refuse to grow up".
The official synopsis reveals increasing tensions as a group becomes marooned on an island, confronting real survival challenges and suspecting each other for the unfolding chaos.

The synopsis reads: "Is Zoe responsible for the drama and destruction around her or, as heaven turns to hell, are bigger forces at play? We are in Greece after all, the land of the ancient Gods ... "
Filming is currently taking place in Malta and Gozo with Tom George and Matthew Moore at the helm.
Star Raine has lauded the story as "brilliant", "epic" and "tragic". Likewise, Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, anticipates that the allure of watching the cast come together across "eight sun-soaked episodes will be irresistible."
Two Weeks In August will air soon on BBC and will no doubt be available to stream on iPlayer
